In my head I'm saying it as 'Eye-sha'. I hope that's right? =)

It's beautiful name, nontheless. =) I love the meaning behind it too.

Congratulations!

Naming a child can be a very arduous task as I am sure you are discovering. If Isha is the name you like, especially with its definition, I would recommend going with it. However, I would also try to research the name a little more to discover a little more information if Isha is from a culture you are unfamiliar with. Indian? Which tribe or if it is a name derived from India, try to discover if there is some historical significance or history to this name. A famous sculptor, historian, philosopher, or if there is some reverence to to the name Isha. May she prove to be your wish come true.

That's a great name! It's short, easy to spell and pronounce. And it's unusual....until birth announcements are sent out and other folks begin using it too :-)

I don't know if I like it as a first name, but if it has special meaning to you and you like it then go for it! Perhaps you could use it as a middle name and have a first name whose meaning goes with that of the middle name? Ultimately it is up to you, I know I get negative responses for the first name I've chosen but in the end I get the final say :)
