it's even worse when said album happens to be from one of you're favorite bands. So what albums have you quietly put away while secretly wanting to tell the artists to take it back and start over again?

For me, it would be the most recent Wildhearts album... did not enjoy at all. Also, all of Ginger's solo albums (he's the frontman for the Wildhearts) have really sucked.

BTW, Sylvia, I didn't see your question from Friday until Tuesday morning. That rocked, thanks.

Iron Maiden can take back both albums they did with Blaze Bayley and they can also take back Dance of Death and A Matter of Life and Death.

Judas Priest can take back both of the Ripper era discs (can't blame them for making new material though).

Helloween can have back Chameleon and Keeper of the Seven Keys, the Legacy.

Megadeth can take back Risk, Cryptic Writings and The World Needs a Hero, take the best songs off of it and just give back one disc.

I have a horror story much worse. My husband and I were hippies, and we LOVE Jefferson Airplane and wanted to get the album (the old 78s) with White Rabbit on it. We took it home, took the cellophane off it, and pulled it out ... inside it was an ELVIS album. It was late, and we had to 'stare at' that album (after listening for just long enough to be sure it was an Elvis album in the wrong cover ... about two seconds) and take it back the next day. The people at the store tried to say we had 'switched' so we could have two Jefferson Airplane albums, for some reason, but we finally got them to give us a NEW album, which we opened in front of them, so we could 'look at the name' and try it out. I NEVER bought another album there ... and I now own over 200 CDs ... their loss. Oh, I do own a "Best of" Jefferson Airplane with SEVERAL different versions of White Rabbit. It's a wonderful 'album.'

That could be the story of 2007.

NIN - Year Zero
Marilyn Manson - Eat Me Drink Me
Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist
Korn - Untitled - Jonathan Davis has been reduced to a moron, unable to come up with a simple album name on his own.

I agree with Foxfire in that the MDFMK was decent. However, the entire idea behind the name change was asinine and likely put a huge hurt on their career. That album would have been better off being released as KMFDM under WaxTrax!

Well, it's no secret that Manson's last album was TERRIBLE, so I really wish he would take that one back.
Faith No More's Album of the Year was seriously not up to FNM standards.
Smashing Pumpkins Zeitgeist, what was Billy thinking? What happened to him, he used to write such catchy songs.
Static X- Cannibal, Wayne needed to spend less time on his hair and more on making that album sound more diverse, every song sounds like it could have been on Wisconsin Death Trip.

I seem to remember we disagree on this one, jmike, but :~

Fleetwood Mac ~ Time
I did like a couple of the songs, but for me it just wasn't
'Fleetwood Mac' .

Also :~

Meat Loaf ~ Midnight At The Lost and Found
The only *really* good track is his cover of 'Promised Land'.
But the others *could* have worked, with more effort.

And possibly the same for the 'Dead Ringer' album
~ still not sure about the choice of Cher on the title track.

hahaha wow, good question jmike.
i really, except for maybe reckless life and move to the city, dont like anything off lies, by guns n roses.

and although theyre not one of my favorite bands, compared the joshua tree, pop by u2 was a complete disaster.

edit:
dead ringer, by meat loaf, is another one that comes to mind.
the shredded vocal chords are really evident on that album

edit to edit: lucky town wasnt an example of bruce springsteens finest work. the e street band-yness wasnt a good idea.

and bob dylans self portrait should be erased from his ridiculously good discography.

Certainly not one of my favourite bands, but the second album by The Rakes, Ten New Messages, was pretty bad, especially when compared to their first.

A huge disappointment.

Sylvia - Awesome another KMFDM fan.

I thought the MDFMK was pretty good. The one KMFDM released after that, ATTAK, wasn't very good. Only a few good songs on the album, which is very uncharacteristic of KMFDM because KMFDM RULES.
