You need to ask your doctor point blank "Is sex ok for us at this point?" If your boyfriend is too scared to and you're uncomfortable with the thought as well then I really don't see what it would hurt to wait for a bit.

Unless you are having complications, sex is fine. I had sex until I was 38 weeks. It can be uncomfortable, but you just have to find a position that works. Every woman is different. If your boyfriend is still uncomfortable with it, call the dr and ask flat out if its ok. Trust me they're used to questions like that. If she says no, make sure you get a clear understanding of why. I suggest, you get as much as you can now, because after the baby comes not only are you restricted by doctors orders but you wont want to have sex at first anyways. Good luck and congrats on the baby!

I was dilated to 3 cms, 50%effaced, and the baby was engaged, and I still had sex. I had sex the night before I was scheduled to be induced. Yes, I got some cramps from it, but that is normal. Tell your bf that he has nothing to worry about. He will not hurt the baby or you. Having an orgasm actually will help you when it comes time to have the baby because it contracts your uterus and strengthens the muscles that are needed to push the baby out. You have 7 more weeks before your due date, and then 6 weeks to wait after you give birth. I think that as long as you feel up to it, you should continue to have sex.

I have 4 kids. Sex is fine up until the last day of your pregnancy. The doctors do tell you this. BUT if you feel any discomfort don't. Also, I believe that sex during the last weeks does encourage labor.. so unless you are ready for baby now vs. a couple more weeks.. hold off.

I am 39 weeks pregnant and my baby keeps on dropping (the doctor thought I would have her last week). I am 2 cm dilated and 75% eeffaced and it is okay for me to have sex. You cannot have sex once the water breaks. The can lead to infection for you and the baby. I would have rough sex... but gentle love making is okay. When in doubt, call your doctor.

Sex is normally fine. I would try calling the doctors office and check with a nurse to be sure what your doctor feels is best if he or she was not clear.

It's absolutely fine to have sex during anytime of your pregnancy. It also helps at the time of labour and the delivery of having your baby.

Call your doctor and confirm. We don't know your body and situation. Pick up the phone, call your doctor, and ask specifically, can I have sex. It's really easy.
