I am simply wanting to know when the average person is changing their oil and what type they put back in.

I go about 4000-5000 miles and my car (2003 Eclipse) calls for 5w30. I live in chilly NW PA. :)

Castrol Syntec 5w40 at 20k miles, just like the manual says, at least the European version does. 108k miles and doesn't use a drop between changes.
The other car we car pool in is a 2001 BMW 325, that has a 9,000 mile oil change interval in the US.
3k oil changes are just a way of taking money off you. In Europe VW use oil change sensors and their diesels will go to 39,000 miles if you drive them gently.
In my 1992 F250 diesel I get the 2.5 gallons of oil changed at 3,000 miles, it's just a dirty old engine.

When i first got my Weim Hope i fed her the large breed dog chow. and i fed her about 2 to 3 times a day. since then i found out that Hope has allergies, and she has had two intestinal infections, with the help of my vet she is set up now. i have been feeding her the science diet lamb and rice for about 4 to 5 months now, she likes it a lot. Congrats on your new addition he is sure to make your life interesting and fun. Make sure you take him for regular check ups, and if you start to notice anything fishy in the way he is acting take him to the vet. Weims make great pets. Good Luck.

I get my oil changed every 3 months or 3000 miles, whichever comes first. I use penzoil.

dont be stupid, use penzoil, that other oil ppl are talking about is crap, i use penzoil 10-30w and change your oil every 3,000 miles or 3 months.
when you put gas in your car at gas station, while car is filling up always check your oil and other fluids

It's best to change your oil every 3000 miles. I use Castol 10W40.
