Depends on whether you are talking about the top ones actually found by the search engine, or the ones that pay to be placed at the top of a search. (Money will get you any ranking you want.)

What gets a site to the top of the ranking is not how often it is visited, but how often Google finds it. As it webbots search the network, if they find 500 links to a page, they assume it is popular and move it towards the top.

They also read through the page (often just the first 1000 words) looking for revelant phrases. If the phrase you are searching for is found 50 times on the page, it will go up in the listing. It also looks at "keywords" that can be listed in the metatag of the page (which you never see when you visit it).

So there are things besides just number of visitors that can determine a pages ranking. (And yes, money is one of them)

Alexa is not a very accurate way of determining web rankings. Their ranking is determined only by people who actually install and use the Alexa toolbar, which is a tiny fraction of internet users.

well try using yahoo.com..in yahoo you can set the kinds of searched you are looking for by clicking on preferences on the top right corner of the home page.

A title determines placement.

If Yahoo Answers were called Yahoo Sex Answers, it would be #1 in the ranking.

And...have you seen my snake?
