If you want complete anarchy you are well on the way to getting it if you do that and not punished. The crime of rape is a terrible one particularly if the victim is a child. I am sometimes a little ( but only a little) less than sympathetic when a girl goes out dressed in a provocative manner and proceeds to get drunk. I have no sympathy with the man who then takes advantage. However I can think of one case which reached the papers when the perpetrator was gaoled not so much as for rape as being a right arrogant B-----d. The scene described was not even an attempted rape because when the so called lady said no in her bedroom he complied. I often wonder if the cry rape is not one of I changed my mind the morning after the night before.

I think there's a big difference between thinking you might kill a rapist and actually doing it. I have a 6 year old daughter too and I would do anything to protect her however if it actually came down to it I doubt I could actually kill anyone.
Personally I don't believe many people deserve the death sentance and although a rapist completely destroys his victim's life I don't believe they deserve the death penalty. I do think the sentances given out in the UK are incredibly light though and that reforms need to take place.

.....I will might kill him.....
.....Kisses from Wales.....
Bit of a contradiction there methinks.
What would you have said to the mother of Stefan Kiszko if he'd been executed for the murder of Lesley Molseed? That's exactly why no mater how serious the crime, we don't have (and never will again) a death penalty. Dumbass Americans are literally that - dumbass. They shoot each other at the drop of a hat (even at school) and think nothing of pulling up China for it's human rights violations while holding prisoners without trial at Guantanamo Bay and continuing to execute prisoners regardless of whether some were actually later found to be innocent. Now THAT makes ME sick!! Luckily we are British and not American and YES we ARE better for that!

I have a child myself and I know exactly what you mean. It'd be extremely hard not to take revenge into your own hands. But who are we to decide who lives and who dies. You'd consider killing the person to revenge your daughter and protect her honor. You'd be heart-broken if she was hurt. But somewhere the person who did that horrible thing has some kind of a family as well. What about their mother? What about their father? Sister? Brother? Whoever. You'd be putting someone else through your pain as well. Gandhi said "An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind." How true is that? I know that this sounds cheesy but if you can, watch the movie "The Life of David Gale." (Kevin Spacey) It changed my whole view on the death penalty. Check it out.

That is true, if they don't get the death penalty the prisoners will kill them..they don't take too rapist. I know where your coming from , if i had a child and they were raped i would probably go insane and not know what i was doing and kill him.I think anyone who kills anyone should get the death penalty , then they would think twice before they do it.

If it is proven that you have the right guy, I would let him rot in prison for ever, it`s right even the prisoners don`t like anything happening to children or the aged, so he will have a rotten life, you say you might kill him, you might think that on the spur of the moment thing, but if you think carefully you will be doing your family out of a dad/husband, because you will end up inside yourself. Hopefully you don`t find yourself in this position it would be tragic

A rapist person is already dead in the eye of humanity specially when all was open in the public to see.
But the question is what if he is not the rapist and this person get kill or even rape in prison what will you do or say.
Many people today anger first and regret later. Just like American shoot first ask question later. But when American shoot today they all die.

Death.
I don't know if the UK has this, but in the US we have a nationwide Sexual Predator list that is on the internet. Every single person that has committed a sex crime is forced to register. This is to notify families, schools, etc that the person is in their neighborhood. They must do this for life.
My problem is that if they do this for life because of the chance they'd do it again, they should not be out of jail. So then since they'd spend their life in jail, they should just be put to death instead of draining the economy.
But yes, I believe the price should be death. Especially considering the trauma they cause that person and family for life.

I think a person who rapes should get life in prison and put on a chain gang to clean up litter off the highway and graffiti off of buildings. Why should our tax dollars clean that up. Make the prisoners do it. Take them out daily with an armed guard and a ball and chain on their ankles and have them keep the community clean.
