I feel your pain.
I lost my father close to 3 years ago and I still grieve for him. I still have dreams about him. When I am alone sometimes my mind wanders and he'll come up, if I hear a certain song I get emotional because I just miss him so much. I smile when I look at his picture but can't help it that my smile and happiness gets overcome by sadness. Periodically I feel that way, but it's something I try to keep to myself because I don't want my Husband and son to to feel my sadness.

Patricia, have you tried grief counseling or joining a grief group of people who have a similar loss. My wife of almost 38 years died suddenly 2 days after Xmas in 2006. It is very difficult and there are days where I move forward and those that I go backward. The counseling and group have really helped me a lot. The counselor is helping me through the grief process and the group lets me know I am not alone in the way I feel. Look for help, you will be glad you did.

Not me, but I am sorry for your loss.
Not to sound cold, but be careful not to let grieving define your life. Celebrate the wonderful things you had together. Every time you feel sad about it, think of something great he did. This helps. Trust me.
And know that just because he has departed this Earth doesn't mean he is out of your life. His love is with you forever.

We all lose those we love eventually but remember that nothing truly dies.
If you want to see your dad again just look in the mirror. That is just one facet of the beautiful way we have been made

i'm so sorry dear. I know this is true your dad wouldn't want you to be sad today he would want you to smile this is easier said than done but try to do this for him. He wouldn't want to cause you any pain he would want you happy. If he could come back he would tell you this. It will get better.
