I wear Polartec Windbloc fleece jackets from LL Bean. Cheaper than Mountain Hardwear and just as good...six Vermont winters have proved that. I used to work for Eastern Mountain Sports so I have a ton of their gear. All of it is good stuff. A bit less-expensive than TNF...but I really don't care about what logo is on my jacket either. My mountaineering coat is a Precision Mountaineering "Expedition" jacket. I've had that for a few years. I only break it out when it's like +10F or lower. Still can't complain about my Obermeyer insulated ski pants either...$50 on sale at the Jay Peak ski shop of all places! Mid-season too...and it was cold (like -15F) the day I bought them. I also have a pair of Campmor "Ascent" bibs I bought about 8 years ago. These have been delegated to my snowmaking wardrobe. However, they have taken a beating...especially last year. But they just refuse to die. I've had to send them for repairs a few times, but I beat the snot out of them. I keep them clean and treat them with the appropriate washing chemicals and they are almost as good as when I bought them. I also used a Red Ledge coat when snowmaking...same company as Campmor. That wouldn't die either. Last year it was +12F, I was running from snowmaking gun to gun, making adjustments,, getting SOAKED and all I was wearing was my Campmor bibs, the Red Ledge jacket, a pair of EMS fleece pants and a EMS Thermo-techwick shirt...I was roasting hot and very dry.

Also... the best winter gloves I own...and I have a LOT...were $25 winter leather work gloves from Wal-Mart with Thinsulate and some generic waterproof membrane...Tough Duck was the brand. I can put my hand in front of a snow cannon and it gets neither cold or wet.
