I think you may have a couple of words mixed up, so let me furnish a **couple** of definitions.

"Prerogative" is a right or privilege that a person has simply by their rank, status or position. For example, if you're having stew for dinner, sampling the stew before it's served is the cook's prerogative. That is, it's something they get to do just because they're the cook. I think this is the word you're looking for, even though it looks like you misspelled it.

A word with a smilar spelling, but a completely different meaning, is "pejorative." It's an adjective used to refer to a word or phrase that's an insult or a put-down, used to express disapproval or comtempt, but may or may not be offensive. For example, in Pirates of the Caribbean, when Jack says to his crew, "Get back to work, you scurvy swabs," he's using "scurvy swabs" as a mildly pejorative term. Obivously, there are stronger pejorative terms in the language, and a number that ARE offensive, but I trust that I've said enough to get the meaning across. Hope that helps!

If something is a prerogative of a particular person or group, it is a privilege or a power that only they have; It is a formal word. eg.Constitutional changes are exclusively the prerogative of the Parliament........It is your prerogative to stop seeing that particular therapist and find another one........
