I am amazed at the small core of individuals on this site who are truly compassionate and seem to care very much about each others' needs and misfortunes. You don't see that kind of concern much anymore.
Sorry- Not usually this serious. Hee hee.

This goes for Seniors only...the truthfulness, the lack of egotism, the caring for others, the compassion for those in a jam, the "baring of souls" to the community, and the great humor here...what is more evident than anything is that so many stick together here as a group, jumping in to defend another when the other seems to have been attacked! Is this only because we come from an age of civility? Is this just something that happens with age? I have no idea, but as for the rest of the site, I rarely go there anymore, for I do not like what I see in answers, or for that matter, in quesitons. Goldwing

I'm intrigued by the amount of judgmental folks on some of the sites. OMG how rude and mean some people can be to perfect strangers. I feel right at home on the senior site. Probably because I fit here. People are not malicious and don't work hard to put others down.

It amazes me how different, yet similar we all really are. I love it when I find someone who has a lot of the same interests or likes the same things I do. Here we like to laugh together, but when one of us is down or has a need, the others rally round. There is no end to how caring these folks are.

There are people from all over the world who have lived such different lives and I am intrigued by all their stories. I am learning something new all the time.

Everybody has already pretty much covered how I feel and what intrigues me about Seniors in Q&A! Goldwing has expressed my feeling almost word for word and I have a feeling with a tear or 2 in his eyes and lump in his throat as maybe the rest of you do too !!!! I might add the way everyone expresses themselves is amazing. So much compassion, love, intelligence, wisdom, pride, eloquence, experience, humor etc. I feel like I know myself better through listening to all of you !!! When I stumbled upon this site I felt like I had finally made it home !!!! {{{{{{{{ GROUP HUG }}}}}}} .... Excellent question by the way !!!!!

I think what intrigues me most about the seniors site is how TOTALLY different it is from categories on Y!A. For the most part, except when we are visited by troll types, this site is caring, thoughtful, insightful, helpful, funny, deep, frivolous - you name it. AND folk 'round these parts can write a cogent sentence AND spell! LOL

Seriously, I would love to have the time to get to really know some of the members better, yet run out of time each day! lol

I se the population of tis group as a whole as very good people.

I see people with wit and wisdom and caring.

I have great respect for the ladis that are or have ben a part of the American Red Cross.

I have the same respect for the mothers that have kids and are raising them to be strong and decent people.

I love the people that want to share smiles and laughter, this is the way it should be.

There are people with great ideas and the knowlege and skills to make them work.

This is how most of the senior site is.

I get a kick every time I log onto the site.

1) The love and care people have shown for me and others.
2) The interesting, thought provoking, and "lying over the keyboard in laughter", questions.
3) The fact that people are truly honest about their past and their feelings.
4) AND most of all, because you are all "JUST YOU",

I'm with plum ecc on this .I feel as though I'm coming home on the seniors section. We have collectively done a lot of living here and empathy abounds like no where else. We can share our innermost thoughts or not and we are not judged. There isn't a day goes by that I don't laugh my fool head off at least once . Thankyou to all seniors and friends of seniors .
Hip Hip Hooray for all of us!!!!!!!!

It took me a while to find the Senior Citizen category when I first got on Yahoo Answers, but when I did, it was instantly my favorite. For the most part, the people asking questions and answering on Seniors, are the most kind hearted, sweetest and friendliest you will find on Yahoo Answers. Now, when I do venture out into another category, I'm a little afraid... of course, I've always been a bit of a chicken.
Seniors: group hug for all of you!

Everyone has a history or "his story or her story". I have met the kindest, thoughtful people on this site, their lives are so interesting, all the muck and mire that they have lived through to become the people they are today. Everyone is very special, I will not name names because I would feel awful if i left anyone out It would be an oversight on my part, and not intentional. If I had a list of everyone name, I could put their best qualities that way.
