I haven't started college yet, and I would like some ideas on what to major in for someone who absolutely cannot stand math.

I like different cultures, languages, religions, etc..

You can major in any of the Liberal Arts to avoid taking a lot of Math -- Literature, History, Foreign Languages, Communications, etc. Some of the social sciences like Sociology or Psychology are possibilities as well. Economics, though, is very mathematical. If you aren't good at logical reasoning, avoid Philosophy.

As for careers -- perhaps Sales, Law or Journalism. Other than a few professions, you can look up a list of how much jobs pay. The ones at the bottom of the list are the ones that don't involve mathematics.

a major that does not require lots of math and fits what you like is Political science. I am a Political science major, it has to do weith philosophy and current issues. It also deals with heated isseus over religion and anbortion. I am playing to attend law school and i was told this major would get me in Law school.

History is the way to go. I used all my electives on history classes, because I too wanted more from college than just to learn a trade. i even got the opportunity to study abroad in Germany my senior year. You won't find the highest paying jobs, but if you want to expand you horizons, I would suggest History and maybe minor in a foreign language.

You can always start as undecided major and go from there. You will have to take at least one or two math classes for a four year degree.

You might laugh at this, but be a funeral director, no math, and you get to deal with different cultures, and religions. Dealing with the dead folks is only a little bit of it, and once you're licensed to do it, you mainly deal with the family's, and it feels good to help people out.

Social worker. The pay sucks, but government benefits are first class. And you will certainly be immersed in "different cultures, languages, religions, etc."
