Lower! It is so expensive for a family to go and spend a day there

Theme parks are not cheap to run, but $50.00 per day for anyone is pushing the limits especially if you have a large family.
With the rising costs of gasoline it makes it hard for an average family to go anywhere on the road to have an enjoyable vacation.
When you add on the costs of running the parks, also hit by the rising gas prices, it makes it that much harder for families to afford.
Some parks have season passes that spread out the per visit costs. That can help alot if you are able to visit the same park several times per year.

depends on which park your going to...sounds like the price of Disneyland...but generally they are lower than $50 a day for adult ticket...but not much lower, in the $40's range and other parks are in the $30's like Knotts berry farm or Magic mountain but i don't believe any lower than that unless you're at another park out of Ca. or have a discount or special promotion going on. I think they should be like $20 ticket $5 parking! Cuz places like Disneyland have like $45-$50 ticket then $10parking then $5-10 lockers and then there's the food, and gifts and souveniers so yea it gets REAL expensive.

Everyone wishes that amusement and theme parks charged less than that for admission, but that's about the going rate these days. I don't mind paying that price if the park is clean and well taken care of, but if you're paying that price for a park that's trashed, vandalized, and dirty, I want to know where the money is going?

Likewise, the cost of food at these places is through the roof! I don't mind paying a higher price for good food (Busch Gardens Europe has AWESOME food that's well worth the price!) as long as it's justifiable, however, if it's small burgers kept warm under a heat lamp with cold fries, the cost should reflect the crappy food.

And don't even get me started on parking fees! Most places charge around $10 for general parking, and upwards of $15 for their "VIP" parking. Why?? We're already paying a lot for the tickets, why not include the parking fee with the ticket prices?

I think you hit it right on the button. That's about average for a local park. Universal Studios, Disney and the like cost even more. ($82.95 - $71.00)

the thing that sucks the most, is you pay so much to enter, but the parks are so over-crowded that if youre lucky you get to go on like 4-5 rides.

The cost of a theme park should be what keeps it open and available for use by the public without sacrificing safety, personnel, and a relatively enjoyable experience.

Ask the people in Cleveland or Houston what they'd give right now to get their local theme parks back.

Depends on what park and what is offered at the park. As stated, Disney would probably be the most as it has the most rides and things to do.

LOWER. Families want to spend some quality time but are put off by the EXTREMELY high prices

i really think it should be lower. everyone keeps raising their prices every year and it is ridiculous! then it cost a fortune to park, eat, drink, play games, souvenirs, pictures, etc. its soooo out of hand!

Probably more than fifty dollars a day, because you have to factor in admission, gasoline, food, souvenirs, lockers, etc., the expenses add up quickly.
