You may have a point. When Alex was a Mariner they were always good but never lived up to their potential. He went to the Texas Rangers and they had loads of talent but never made the playoffs. His stint with the Yankees gave him the dubious nickname of Choke-rod. I hope he goes to the Redsox...lol......

ARod only joined the team in the last few seasons. The Yankees lost the word series to both Arizona and Florida without him. The Yankees curse is not ARod..the Yankees curse is Steinbrenner depleting the farm system and carelessly buying the soon-to-be free agent with the most media hype. If the Yankees had put a little more research into who they snagged off the wire, instead of acquiring folks like Jeff Weaver and Javier Vazquez...they may have won some world series

There is no such thing as the "Curse of A-Rod". Yes, the Yankees have not won with him, but they didn't win before they had him in '01-03 either. It makes for a nice theory for Yankee haters, but it doesn't exist, just as the "Curse of the Bambino" never existed. The Red Sox were not good enough to win from 1919-2003, just as the Yankees have not been good enough to win since 2001. You are correct as usual that the Yankees have not won in the 21st century, but it could be worse, like the Tigers who have not won since 1984, during the Reagan adminstration.

It's also worth noting that the Yankees have not won the World Series since plans for a new stadium were announce, or even won a play-off series since breaking ground on the new Yankee Stadium, which replaces the House that Ruth built. Perhaps replacing the stadium is angering the Bambino and he has shifted his curses focus to the Yankees

People blame A-Rod, when in reality it is the sub-par pitching staff that they have had. Putting a bunch of old arms has not worked! It has nothing to do with A-Rod.
There is no curse for any teams. The Cubs - they have just sucked most of the time! That is all.

Getting rid of a self absorbed, arrogant player like A-Rod can only help the Yankees.. Too bad it was at Joe Torre's expense. Personally, GP, the Yankees are MY White Sox so if they never win another play off game in my lifetime (the next 20 years or so) I will be VERY happy.

Thats dumb because the Yankee's didn't have A-Rod this entire century either. He's been there for like 3 or maybe 4 years.
It wasn' t A-Rod that gave up 7 runs in 5 innings in a playoff game. If anything, without A-Rod, the Yanks would have been lucky to break .500.
he gets a bad rap because he accepted what the market bore and you idiot yanks are bitter that you've haven't one a WS in the last few years.
Get over yourselves, your front office sucks, your owner sucks, your entire organization sucks. If it weren't for money, you're team would suck too.
OZgard, as a Ranger fan, I can tell you they had zero talent pitching wise (still the case today) when A-Rod played here. The team sucked and he won an MVP award on a team that barely (if that) finished over .500

Considering the numbers he put up this past season and the fact that he seemed more comfortable in New York, I think the Yankees have less chance of winning.

there is a curse of arod, the mariners have not been good and neither have the rangers. The rangers had been to the playoffs in 99 and signed arod a couple years later and last place finishes came with it since they had no money for pitches
