Very interesting to see how others will spend their day. We always do the traditional thing. I myself like to spice it up a bit and try different sides with the meal but people always complain that it's different. Change comes hard for some.

We get up and get the turkey ready to put in the oven and also make the stuffing.. We have pretty much the traditional things for dinner, except we always have soda bread being Irish. We watch the parade, then the first Christmas movie of the season, stuff ourselves silly then all pass out in the living room.. gotta love Thanksgiving!!

Happy holidays everyone!!!!

Since Christmas and Thanksgiving are so close together, our family opted to use the traditional turkey for only one of these days. We chose turkey for Christmas since we have so many visitors and it feeds more.
For Thanksgiving we often change the menu. One year we opted for fish, another we went with homemade Lasagna and on another we made a roast. Dessert is alway pumpkin pie, though.
The important thing is that we all have something to be thankful for and I can enjoy spending more time with my family as I am in the kitchen less.

It is always Turkey at our house for Thanksgiving. We also serve Tamales and Menudo. But it is an unbreakable tradition to have Turkey/Stuffing, Candied Sweet Potatoes, Cranberry Salad, and Corn on the Cob.

Yes, I don't think any meal we have as a whole family together would be complete without our mom's greenbean casserole and our course the brown and serve rolls...I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and that all goes well and PEACEful with you and those you love...;0)

I like turkey to much to have anything else for Thanksgiving. But on Christmas I've had prime rib before.

We deep fry a honey ham! The ham comes out so tender and juicy...much better than a stove cooked turkey. ( We have also deep fried a turkey...can't say I will ever bake one after that! :)
