DON'T get fooled by the apparent veneer of 'Westernization' in some areas. Shopping Malls do NOT a culture make !
When you see bars on all the streets selling alcohol freely then you can get your hopes up.

I dont think the middle east could stand anything like Las Vegas, but in Asia there is a city called Macao, that is suposed to rival vegas in every way

no, I think it is shanghai or Mumbai that is the next vegas. Dubai has lovely building but hardly a big economy. When the oil runs out, they will have nothing else to export.

I'm pretty sure that they don't allow gambling there. It is a big party town though. Also, muslims don't believe in alcohol consumption, so it would be interesting to see how much alcohol they allow.
