when you have gotten your way, income above $250k is taxed at 70-80%, and the rich CONTINUE to distance themselves from the poor, simply because they continue to do the things that make them rich, while the poor continue to do things that make them poor?

Will you continue your class warfare quest, screeching from every forum that income inequality is out of control, and that the rich are not paying "their fair share" of taxes?

Mild irritant - Actually, you are wrong. Marginal tax rates in the US have been that high and higher in the past. Do your research next time.

Class warfare is very real, but liberals and Democrats didn't start it. The RICH and Republican did with their "supply-side" economics and "trickle down" economics, neither of which work. There is a redistribution of wealth going on in the US and it's all upwards to those who need it least. BILLIONS are spent yearly to subsidize rich corporations, Income earned from LABOR is taxed at a higher rate (35%) than income earned from investing (15%). Very few people making over $250,000 per year are doing so from labor. They make their money from investing and are shifting the tax burden on to the poor and middle class. And like someone else said, the poor and middle class don't get to use the off-shore tax shelters or loopholes because they don't have accountants or lawyers to find and exploit those things. Income above $350,000 should be taxed at 40%. And that goes for income from both labor and investments. The less we tax the more government GROWS, as was reported by Jonathan Rauch as well as the Cato Institute. The Republican "starve the beast" theory doesn't work any more than their "trickle down" economics theory does.

Then why
Warren Buffet third richest man in the WORLD
is a democrat
AND he say he pays too little in taxes
As a matter of fact Warren Buffet has challenged his fellow millionaires and billionaires this
If they can prove that they pay more in taxes (percentage wise of their income) than their secretary's do he will GIVE them 1 million dollars
He says he pays less than all of his office workers (percentage wise of their income)

so tell me Mr Genius, why would a billionaire pay a smaller percentage than the Average JOE
Because of the G O P
THAT'S WHY

70-80%? Give me a break! If they just paid the 20-30% the rest of us pay it would make a world of difference. With their tax breaks, tax shelters, and tricks for hiding their income, some of them pay virtually nothing. You need to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh (another filthy rich Republican, by the way) and join the real world.

What's the question?
I usualy screach about how many idiots blindly follow the first jack *** that says something they wanna hear.
things like, " iraq has confirmed weapons of mass destruction." or "God speaks through me."
or " They tried to kill my daddy" or "we need an energy bill that encourages consumption."
or my favorite "our enemies are resourceful and innovative, and so are we.They never stop thinking of ways to harm our country and our people. And neither do we."
I could go on for ever....

Since I don't make $250K, I guess I'll continue to pay my 15% and be thankful that others are so successful.

Well given that the wealthy always find ways of avoiding tax (electing certain politicians, for example), it doesn't look like that perfect world you dream of will ever come about.

We'll cry and blame you, the conservatives.

Did it ever occur to you that the "liberals/conservatives" are the same damn people? Whether you're a Republicrat or a Demican, people basically believe the same stuff. There's no variety in political opinion.
