My country is o.k., not superior nor inferior to other counties. My passport is convenient.
I love the city I live in.
I love my native language and it's literature.
I am not proud of my country, I am only proud of a few things I did myself.
I am not ashamed of what my compatriots did centuries ago, I didn't take part.
I do despise patriotic people, who claim their country & their system is the best. Usually they have no idea about other countries and systems.
My country is my background against which I live my life.

Oh come on Project-... do you even live here??? You do not even know what we are about here! If any one on Earth thinks like the way you think Americans think then they should be tracked down and stopped, like HITLER.....I think you are a jerk who is so damn full of himself and has no clue what he is talking about!

i did not think i was(Irish) till i went to another country.
People made stupid comments (i got really mad)

here are a few of them

1. "Ireland is a part of Britain" --by Russian girl (ah... no....... its own country.)

2. "Gaelic", (Irish language) "that English spoke with an Irish accent"?---- by {finish language teacher}

(ahm..........no.......I began specking in Gaelic calling her all a number of things under the sun.)

3. "Do you know Mary o Neil she live in Dublin"?----by American
(ah yes despite living in County Limerick i know all the o Neils in Ireland--- i know it not a big country but come on! I hardly know that many people.

3. "Your Irish you expected to drink"!------ by french guy at 10am
(my only comeback i could think of is... "your french your expected to eat frogs legs"
he replied "but of course" ----i thought Dam! how do you come back from that!)

:)

Yes. My county is a close community and almost everyone knows everyone else and we all (mostly) help each other.

Even patriotism to the point of fanaticism is fatal to mankind. I believe in humanity and respect everybody . I love my country but am not irrational in my love,

Yes, to the point that it's slightly worrying at times. I could rant all day but I won't.

I'm not far from Stratford-Upon-Avon. We also have Warwick Castle on our doorstep, beautiful villages all around. We are steeped in history and I love my heritage - it makes us who we are.

to be honest no. I love the land but i think it's pretty stupid to pledge allegance to a dumb flag and the idiots that make up our government.

I am because of my Pappy. He taught me alot about loving America and our ideals. Even if we see alot that needs to change, we must see first the beautiful intent of Freedom.
