I hope it's NOT the Riviera. Was there in October and had a blast. Very well kept for an older property.

Slots of fun, is dirty but they won't implode it. They'll just run over it with the Hummer they're giving away (it's parked out front)

I heard a couple of years ago from a guy that does the imploding that the Tropicana was being looked at for implosion.

Frankly I wish they'd leave the older properties alone, I don't like the mega casinos/hotels. But I know it's the fact of the bucks.

My bet is on the Riviera or Imperial Palace. IP is now owned my Harrah's. Which means they own everything on the East side of the strip Harrah's to Paris, Harrah's is also planning an expansion behind Paris, Bally's, Bills, Flamingo, O'Shea's and Harrah's. Uep, Harrah's owns Bills and O'Sheas.

This website has the information about strip ownership.

I hope its going to be Imperial Palace cuz that place is ghetto and the rooms look dated. Same for the Tropicana. If a hotel hasn't been renovated for a while then they are likely to be next on the list.

While nothing is set in stone (haha-get it?), rumors are abound regarding Imperial Palace's days being numbered. The fact that MGMMirage is looking to build another mega-center on the north end makes Circus Circus a strong candidate as well. Hope that helps!

The rumor is that its the Tropicana and will be expanded all the way to the airport. Another rumor is that it will be a joint venture with Virgin Airlines and will allow passengers on Virgin flights to walk off the airplane and straight into the hotel!

lots and lots of rumours but there is no casino on the chopping block as of right now, though riveria does seem the likely next candidate as they have been trying to sell the place for the last 2 years.
