It probably depends on if you are part of the "video game generation". I'm 42, but I think I was about 12 years old when Pac-Man came out. That game sort of ushered in video games to the mass public, and made them popular. So I would imagine that anyone who was a teen-ager at the time would also be into video games. Those people are now in their late 40s or early 50s. Anyone that age or younger, video games are just part of life. For people older than that, they didn't grow up with them, so they are less likely to play them.

One is never too old to play video games as a hobby but if playing games is getting in the way of adult responsibilities one might have to reassess the amount of time one spends on gaming.

I am not sure about the "hobby" thing, but I am 30 and I like to play them sometimes, but it's not something that I do on an everyday basis.I guess whatever floats your boat!!

I can't imagine ever being too old to enjoy a good video game, especially as they just keep getting more interesting and the graphics will undoubtably just keep getting better. (Esp. as you specifically said "hobby".)

Well our generation will probably look right playing games when we're old because it's our thing. When you see an old person now playing videogames it just looks wrong. I think for us, we're too old for it when we physically can't play anymore, with artharitis, and carpel tunnel or whatever.

You are too old when you can't see the screen, and when you have arthritis in your hands.... Just kidding, you are never too old, unless you really are blind and can't grip a control pad. I'm 36 with no such problems, yet...

I would say as long as you can play them and enjoy them, it doesn't matter how old your are.
My dad is 58 (retired) and he still plays games on a regular basis.
