I brought one for my son which he had when he was 6 months and its lovely, Admittedly its very fiddly but as i read mine with my son. There's lots of books and cards to go with it, Also it is designed for ages from 6 months its a nice way to have a quite moment with your child before bed etc

That will be a bit too advance for a 6 month old child. Put that money on a savings bond, and let it double in money!

My kids love their leap pads. They are 4,5, and 7 now and they still play with them. We have just upgraded to different books or levels. I think its a great choice. Its never too early to start learning!!

We bought one for my son when he was 8 months old, and he showed no interest in it....still dosent actually..he is 16 months now. Only loves to press the On/Off button and hear it say "bye-bye".

I'd check to see what the age range is...it may be too advanced for the baby now but he/she might get some use out of it later.

no, i don't think so, it is a great learning tool but with my 2 little ones they did not get into it til about a year old or older, try something a little more age appropriate

I would say no. I bought one for my daughter when she was a year and she is now three and still has no interest in it.
