Some surfaces give optical mice a hard time. Usually those that are very smooth and a single colour. That can cause cursor creep.

Try turning your mouse upside down. If that does not stop it, borrow another mouse to see if it is the mouse or the system.

Do you have a wireless mouse? I've seen the cursor move in response to interference from cordless phones.

Without more data it is hard to say. But the matter boils down to the fact that the system believes it see and input of some kind. Like is something leaning on the space bar ETC ETC

The embedded 'stick' for moving the mouse on a laptop can cause the pointer to creep across the screen.

Or your table is slanted.
