I am an Eagles fan, and I have friends that are Giants and Cowboys fans. We fight so much over football that it may seem like we really hate each other. I see this happen a lot to other people too. Whats up with it?

What fun would football be if you didn't occasionally get in a screaming match with people you love because they like a different team? It's generally the highlight of my weekend

I really just hate the Red Sox on the principle of hating the Red Sox that comes with being a Yankees fan. If I were to see a Red Sox player walking on the street, I wouldn't be saying hateful things to him, I'd probably ask for his autograph, because he's a Major League Baseball player, and how often do you meet one of them? I used to hate some of the Red Sox players, but my Red Sox fan friends have been making me more indifferent or respectfulness towards them! XD I don't really consider this a weakness as being a Yankees fan, I prefer to consider it appreciating the rivalry and respecting the rival team!

Most of us live through our teams because it helps us forget the jobs we really work, it gives us a chance to burn off some frustration and gives us something to talk about other than work and world affairs and as long as you can take it when your team on the wrong end of the score then live it up when you win. Now if we're talking about fist fights then those people need to get a life it is only a sport. Not life or death.

A good rivalry is fun. People tend to go overboard and just act like kids blowing raspberries at each other..........I think it helps to have a diversion from this ugly world we live in right now.

It's fun, an example when U.S. and British troops get together they take jabs at each other all the time. However, in the end all they do is get drunk and talk about each other. It's all part of the game of life. You like something, you defend it.

nothing wrong with a healthy rivalry... but, sometimes it gets out of hand, like with some of the "haters" who wish physical harm upon others...
