I was doing jiujitsu and my sparring partner tried to cross face me but instead dug his elbow into the side of my adams apple. i immediately removed it but it already did quite some damage. Now whenever i swallow my saliva, food, or water it has a sharp pain on the left of my throat. Anyone know if there are any severe problems that could happen by this?

you probably have some swelling there. Take a dose of asprin. If the tablet is hard to swallow, chop them up in to a few small pieces or get some effervescent asprin you can add to water. Aspirin is an anti inflammatory.

Pain is your body's alarm bell that a function is being impaired in some way. The more it hurts the more it is telling you dont do it again and is an indicator of risk.

depends... I would get that checked out by a doctor. The luckiest situation is that its just bruised, but depending on how hard you were hit, it might be more. Have a doctor check it out if it doesn't go away in a day or two.

See a doctor. You probably just have swelling but there are fairly weak cartilage rings around your throat that could have been damaged.
