I am a 20 year old British Muslim lady. I do not use bad language on here. My preference is never to discuss or answer any question that refers to sex in any way. I am not flirtacious. What do you think I should do about this impersonator who is saying sexually crude and repulsive things in my name. I will change my name and avatar but once they have you in their sites..... This is an example from last night..http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApRBcPJPdf3gqrtGIk8WL8EuLxV.;_ylv=3?qid=20071113102952AAtgonh

The response from the 'Mystery' avatar in this question is not me just someone being crude who goes around saying filthy things whilst pretending to be me. Go and take a look in current events, there is a little group who go around doing this sort of things the minute someone stands up to them, they make false accusations and nothing is sacred. I don't mind people speaking their minds, it makes life interesting, but I feel there is a line that should not be crossed

The general consensus seems to be to allow them to keep doing this (I am not the only one). It just doesnt seem right, if I were the only 1 then it would be clear I should leave, but do I ignore it when they do it to other women and help perpetuate their belief that they are gaining popularity and this filth is condoned?

Besides reporting it, you could close your account, sign up again, and change your I.D. - although that would be a hassle for you. Sorry.

You have several choices. One is to grow a bit of a thicker skin, and not let it worry you. By posting this question, you bring attention to the person who you say is bothering you!

Two is to try to change your name here, but as you say, if they want to, they can find your new identity from the tone of your replies!

The third choice is to find something else to do. It may be that the free wheeling atmosphere here is a bit too free for your personal values! If you do not feel comfortable here, you may want to look for another activity!

If I were you I'd get a new account or change my password. Don't worry it happens to us all. I have a myspace account and hackers phished my account and posted very inappropriate bulletins in my name >:(
People who do this, are doing it purely for the fun of torturing u.

Unfortunately, the first thing to do is create a new account & close Mystery. As others have suggested, it may be necessary to leave YA! for interaction with those who have class. It is your choice to make, sorry you have had to deal with such behaviour.

I didn't read this perpetrator's comments, but how about this: you can go to each posted question of that person (you can even go to each of his answers), report him at each entry he posts, and comment further there (to Yahoo A!) regarding him and his posts.
At the very least you have to leave him to his nasty work and rise above this flea of a man. His actions will further develop his ways, and bring about his deserved reward, in time. What a dog . . . no, even a dog is better!
Blessings and best wishes in all you do.

Are you sure he's talking about you??

You can always report it and him too. I would change my avatar and my name, another thing... this guy could be in your contacts and is following you around to see where you have been... I'm sorry this is happening.... :(
