Just like the Earth orbits around our sun, so does our sun orbit around the center of our Galaxy. As we have summers and winters, so does our sun.
This "Galactic Year" causes ice ages and periods of intense volcanic eruptions on our planet as our sun gets closer and father away from the center. The hotter our planet becomes, the lower our magnetic field will be, and the more liquid the layers of our planet. This increase in temperature melts our ice caps which takes a huge amount of weight off our current poles.
As our sun starts to move away from its closest point to the Central Bar (center of our Galaxy) the magnetic pull causes our earths crust to travel over the mantel and realign itself with our suns "Galactic Orbit".

The gravity of the super massive black hole at the center of the galaxy IS JUST SPHERICAL, so all the rest of that is nonsense.
The galaxy does have a flattened disk, but our solar system is also in the form of a flattened disk. All the planets orbit in about the same plane. And the Sun's gravity is spherically symmetrical. Saturn has spherically symmetrical gravity but it has rings in a plane. There is no way a black hole could have gravity that was not spherically symmetrical, or at least very nearly so.
Passing through the plane of the galaxy could not cause a pole shift. And that plane passage occurs only once every hundred million years or so. The plane is not even narrow enough and well defined enough to say, to the year, when we are exactly on it anyway. We are close now. We have been for all recorded history and will be for about a million more years.

You seem to have taken a number of unrelated facts and thrown together a pretty confusing scenario.
Yes, it is likely that there is a super-massive black hole at the center of our galaxy, as many other galaxies of similar structure have been found to have such a feature. We haven't been able to directly determine whether our own galaxy has one because we don't have a very good view of the center of our own galaxy (it being obscured by all that matter (stars and dust) between us and the galactic center).
Yes, the galaxy is planar, not spherical. This has nothing to do with the gravitational field of the central object. Any object (black hole, star, planet, pea, etc) generates a gravitational field that varies as 1/r^2, so the gravitational field at 10,000 ly above the center of the galactic plane is the same as it is at 10,000 ly from the center along the galactic plane. Matter forms itself into a disc around the galactic center due to the rotation of the galaxy as a whole, the same way planets form in a generally planar area about a star, or rings about a planet, etc.
Third, the "pole shift" you speak of refers to the shifting of the earth's magnetic pole. Periodically throughout the history of the earth, the polarity of the earth's magnetic field has reversed, which can be detected by noting the alignment of magnetic materials in mineral deposits over time. There is no proven cause for this, but all theories involve dynamics of the earth's core, which is the source of the earth's magnetic field. No correlation has been made between the pole reversals and any external, galactic events.

I agree with everything Dansinger says except that we have exceptional proof of the super massive black hole (SMBH) at the center of our galaxy with the imaging of objects and the gravitational interaction with it. It also appears we have multiple black holes flying around in there. More proof is controversial, but it appears the speeding stars that are flying out of our galaxy are due to interactions with these super-dense objects.
I'm not sure the magnetic field of our galaxy is strictly emanating solely from that SMBH. It may be a collective field from all the substance in the Milkyway.
To clarify what he said about the magnetic field where we are, imagine a a donut. The black hole is at the center of the donut and we are orbiting in the center of the "cake" part. The magnetic field from the center of our galaxy shoots out the bottom of the donut hole and curves around the outside of the donut and returns through the top of the hole. So it is correct that the field doesn't change much from moving up and down through the disk.
The magnetic field does change as we orbit the galaxy. Spiral arms are caused by the magnetic field and stars (including the Sun) pass through them as we go round and round. This isn't going to change the polarity but it does affect the strength.
The magnetic N and S are most likely flipped due to the Earth's internal core just as the Sun's internal core affects it's polar flip.

...cause a pole shift to what? the Earth? Yes. But, since we are so far flung out in one of the arms of this galaxy that we don't stand much of a chance of passing through the central disc, this isn't the reason that our magnetic poles wind up doing the dancing that they do.

There is geological proof of pole reversal on Earth, but I think what is being observed is not a true shifting of magnetic poles, some unknown event caused the Earth's crust to slip 180 degrees, the poles remained the same but the crust reversed positions over the poles.
