If you really want to try this you should read the book Humanure Handbook... I am not sure of the author. Incredible resource and plenty of info on exactly your question...from what I have understood...human waste composted for over a year at a very high temp will kill most harmful pathogens. If you are unsure of the safety...use it to fertilize pasture or Non edibles. I

Any body's can, the question is , is it safe? It is definitely not, the pathogens in in human waste can make you very very sick, whether you eat the plants grown in it or handle it working in your garden. In some places in Europe they do use "night soil" as fertilizer and don't get sick, but they have been doing this for hundreds of years and their bodies are accustomed to it, however they probably pass on diseases to each other that way, esp. in the Third World countries.

since the use of sewage, Milorganite, is now pretty common in farming, I'd say yes, AS LONG as it goes thru the same processing as the Milorganite does.... and that would be a really good composting, great temps for a good long time... something you prob cannot do at home.... so in that sense, I have to agree with the others... No.......
