Woman Sentenced in Kidnapping

A Chickasaw County woman was sentenced to 10 years in prison Tuesday for her role in the kidnapping and torture of a mentally disabled man.
Kimberly Matchett pleaded guilty in early October to willful injury and three counts of child endangerment. She was initially charged with aiding and abetting first-degree kidnapping, which could have put her in prison for life.
She is among five people charged in the kidnapping and torture of Thomas Cummings in August at a rural Ionia farmhouse.
The only pending trial in the case involves Robert Skillen, who is charged with first-degree kidnapping. Skillen rented the farmhouse and Matchett was his live-in girlfriend. His trial is scheduled for January 16th

This just saddens me. I can not understand the cruelty people are capable of. Does not matter where you live, even in Iowa there are crazies. The lack of compasion....where does it come from?

It is very sad. Unfortunately, some people are exposed to violence, hated, drugs, and unethical behavior at a young age. These things can cause violence, hatefulness and thoughts of harming others.

The stereo typing in America, our lack of compassion, putting money before human life, our ability to target certain individuals or groups of individuals and harrass them and bully them until they come to their knees is what is wrong here. Psychological illness is on the rise, and will continue to rise until we go back to the golden rule and begin treating each other the way we would want to be treated. Without God people have nothing to fear and are likely to react to their instinct without worrying about consequences. Some people feel death is a haven, when you remove the penalty of God even ordinary people have nothing to fear. ;-(

I have no idea where it comes from, but I wish someone would shoot these hateful people. I mean seriously, why would anyone want to torture ANYONE much less a mentally disabled man. I guess that's the only thing that makes them feel worthwhile. Freaking idiots.

The idea some people are jsut born evil I thought was a myth, but is true.

What's wrong with these people, where it comes from, is that they have a deep seated self hatred so therefore if they don't love themselves, they can't love others and they pick on/torment others so they don't have to face their own insecurities. I also believe that these people lack a moral compass.
