Thanks for the ideas..just to add he had recently bought a TV, and the only beer he drinks is a dutch beer which he imports...
I like the ideas of scrap book & beer festival :)

Get him one of those adventure days. Fly a plane. Drive a racing car. You know the type of thing.

If not, how about a new tv and a case of beer?

My Dad has just turned 65 and he and my Mum spend a lot of time in Italy, so a language course, by Michele Thomas, was ideal :D It is a very easy concept to pick up on; I have the Spanish courses, so I know. A few phrases might go down a treat, in Octoberfest, or whatever beer festival he might attend ..... ...just a thought :-)

Thinking about what you said above, how about a new TV, and because he likes Beer, how about taking him to one of those Beer/Ale festivals where he can taste as many brands as he likes for free!!! I have been to one of these festivals and it was a fantastic day out, needless to say rather tipsy at the end of it all. Best of luck.

My dad will be turning 60 in 3 years time. My fiance and i have decided to make a small book on him since he was a baby till now. I have already written some poems and sweet phrases abt him. I will be putting together all the cards i have given to him and make it into a book like a biography.

60 is quite a milestone I know I make it in 2 years one thing that us oldies like is things that are the same age as us mainly because so few things last that long.
Have you thought of a getting him a newspaper from the day he was born? Pretty unique and perhaps he has never really thought about or seen what the world was really like whe he was very young.

I have got a similiar problem - my Dad will be 60 TOMORROW. Magazine subscription - TV Times, something that ties in with a programme he likes.

Why not take him out for the evening instead. Dinner somewhere and then to a good film or play. You could get him a small Apple shuffle for about £49 if you are willing to spend that much money.
