I am 13 weeks pregnant on my second child and starting to show already i look like i am 5 - 6 months gone. I had a scan at 8 weeks as i had bad pain and there was only one baby,is it ture that a baby can hide and not be detected till birth. Could i be expecting twins its my turn in the family to have twins as it skips a generation.
If any one has any answer, i would be great full for you're comments.

With a second pregnancy you will show much quicker than the first time. That's why you are seeing a belly now at just 13 weeks.
It's very rare for them to miss a 2nd baby on the scan, but possible. Since twins run in your family, you have a greater chance.

Hi. I noticed the same thing during this pregnancy (my 2nd). During my 1st I didn't start showing at all until I was around 16 weeks (or later) but during this one, I was already showing by 10-11 weeks (felt sooner though b/c I was so bloated). I agree w/ the others who said it's probably just b/c this is your second pregnancy.
However, it's not likely but slightly possible that you are carrying twins. A lady that my brother works with had an ultrasound done at 12 weeks and only one baby was seen. Then, at her 20 week ultrasound, they saw baby #2.

After the first pregnancy, women tend to show much more quickly. With my first, I didn't have to put on maternity clothes til I was almost 6 months, with each pregnancy since then, I was wearing looser jeans, etc. by week 12. As far as twins go, yes it is possible for one baby to "hide" and for heartbeats to be in sync, but rarely does it remain undetected all the way through pregnancy.

sometimes the second baby does not show on the first scan and will be detected on the second!! very rare though!get it checked if you think you are! 8 weeks you cant really tell anyway, do a search on google for twins at 8 weeks it will tel you when they show!xx

Hi as soon as i had my first scan they could clearly see i was having twins if its showing one baby then its one baby, if you have had a baby before they say you show sooner, i can say it was really clear throughout my scans that there was two babies and my 69 inch waist confirmed it !

my friend is now prego with #3, she is only 21 weeks and when she was 16 weeks she was about as big as i was at 8 7 months with my last one. she was thinking twins aswell cause they run in the family's but at her 3d ultrasound, as well as the normal ultrasound it confirmed just one in there. its common for you to be larger earlier with a second or third pregnancy. your body is experienced already.

2nd pregnancy - you tend to show a lot earlier that the first. Could just be that.
