Y!A isn't intended to be anything more than what it is... And it IS a great deal less, these days, than it used to be.
I'l grant you that; no problem.
Also, sometimes each of us gets a little vehement in expressing our opinions... at least I know I do... My comments are always personal opinion, and NEVER meant to be taken as a critisism
of any individual person here. (I just need to learn to have better control of my big mouth ... )
But... you are an intelligent, rational, kind-hearted person with a valuable viewpoint. I think you can do a lot of good here... (and I love your questions!)
IF your negative experiences have to do with another section, well, that's why I stick mostly to P&S~!
(I started out in Politics, and ventured into Religion & Sprituality frequently.) I don't do much of THAT anymore! (...smile...)
When one of my contacts places a question there, I answer it, and scamper right back here to P&S.
For the most part, (by a LARGE majority) I think the people here a wonderful!
Everything has a negative side to it... You are the only one who can decide if that outwieghs the good stuff here, for you...
You might very well benefit from a "vacation" from Y!A. I hope you don't leave us permanently. I would really miss you. Seriously. }:>

I never thought of Y!A as an educational site at all. We ask silly questions and give back silly answers, and never expected to learn anything here at all. I view Y!A as a fun way to waste time. There are so many people here that I absolutely adore (you one of them), and find it difficult to walk away from it. Perhaps you need to change your expectations and enjoy the friends and the nice people of this site. My account has been suspended two times and always come back despite the very few nasty people who keep reporting me because of the people that I care for. I don't think you should leave, but understand that there are few "bad" apples here but also lots of nice, fun loving people.
