Naw, I honestly think that after Castro is gone, Cuba will be reformed but by the people, not GOVT. I have heard it predicted that Castros brother does not have the wit or charisma to keep the masses in check.
Many Europeans already vacation there and I believe within 10 years, sanctions will be lifted and Americans will too.
The sanctions that we have in place now will do fine. After Castro is dead, the US will probably dangle a carrot for the Cubans and there will be friendship again.

The US should leave those people alone. The only reason that we beat up Cuba is because Florida has a huge population of former Cubans who vote Republican or Democrat on the basis of which party claims to want to screw Cuba the most. Florida has a lot of electorial votes...how hard is it to see the connection. What the hell did Cuba ever do to us anyway? The Cold War is over; all of the Cold War policies toward Cuba should be over as well!

Please, this is an issue that needs to go away. The embargo has done nothing to change the government of Cuba. Quite frankly, that is the duty & responsibility of the Cuban people to do; not the United States. If anything if we can have diplomatic relations with China who only looks at us as an economic exporting cash cow and Saudi Arabia who seem to only care about draining us dry with their only precious commodity which we have to pay them to extract out of the ground for them - I can see no other reason for us not to maintain a normal relationship with Cuba. Besides, if we change our stance, maybe Cuba just might do the same too.

Economic sanctions against Cuba need to end. If we can have free trade with China, the former USSR, Viet Nam and the like why not with Cuba? Cuba would be a huge market for our grain and farm products.

No, the US should end the ridiculous sanctions on Cuba and open free trade. If we can have free trade with China, why not Cuba?
If I live in the free world, why can't I travel to Cuba?

We ought to loosen our boycott - open trade and Cuba would change overnight. Good heavens, if we can bend over backwards to deal with the mass murderers of Red China, we can open up to the Cuban people.

the US refuses to open borders with cuba for the very reason that american tourists would no longer go to overcrowded, overpriced dirty florida and would instead go to inexpensive and pristine cuba instead.
its already the #1 vacation spot for canadiens and lots of europeans

Grip on what?
If I thought for one second that Fidel would share the benefit of free trade with his people I would be standing in front of the capitol demanding it now.
The man is a fraud and so is his brother.
He is such a fraud, Hemingway committed suicide over it.
He's entertaining Vince Foster now.
