Update your Question with how old you and the BF are.

Update: $100
Make sure you agree on the amount. Don't think you will be nice and spend $500 and surprise him with this great gift. If he just gets you something small - it will make him feel bad.

$50-100.

sounds cheap but let me explain.

if you are together, you should be doing nice things for each other all during the year, not just Christmas. For example: going to take their car to get detailed or the oil changed when they don't expect it, or fill up the gas tank from time to time, or cook their favorite meal when you know they had a crappy day at work. etc.

Christmas is once a year and I think it's too commercialized to be honest. I think we should do nice things for others every day of the year, even little things, instead of once a year. I say save the extra cash for any kids in the family and/or help out someone who you know is struggling and help them with a gift card to the grocery store, gas station or Walmart.

I wouldn't break the bank

Dont set a limit. Just go with what you think is the present for him. A present from the heart has no limit. Good luck and have a Happy Holidays!

Sometimes money spent is not the answer if you are really enjoying being together. Paint a picture, take a great meaningful photo, write your feelings down and give them to him. If you cannot find anything along that nature, give him some nose/ear clippers, every guy needs those things.

It really shouldn't be a question of how much money to spend. The thought that goes into the gift is what really counts.
