my wife said our son had a "diaper rash" and I saw it and it loked like Athletes Foot Fungus so I figured it has to be a fungul infection so I typed in "diaper rash fungus" on a Yahoo Search and got this link
http://www.drhull.com/EncyMaster/R/diaper_rash.html

which bakced up my theory so I went to Walmart and bought the generic form of Lotrimin AF (Clotrimazole ) and it cleared it up 70% overnight.

Has anyone else here ever realized that the blood raw "diaper rash " in the leg crease is actually a fungus and can be cleared up with athletes foot fungal cream?

My daughter ended up with a fungal rash in the crease of her neck... it can happen anyplace that is moist and warm. Her Dr. told us to get some lotrimin (actually, walmart generic, as well) and it cleared up within a couple days. I still use it every couple of days as a preventative measure. But your instincts were right... good work dad :-)

Yes, my son had a bad rash, and his doctor told me to go out and buy the Lotrimin AF. The doctor said that it was more than likely a yeast infection than a diaper rash. And yes, It did clear it up.

Actually...

when our first daughter was born, the pediatrician reccommended buying generic "lotrimin" for occasional diaper rash.

The "diaper rash" products simply greased up the area, trapped in more moisture, and made her rash worse. The generic athlete's foot stuff worked like a charm overnight, as you said.

Also works on adults where sweat gets trapped and causes redness and swelling of the skin.
