It would seem to me that the use of a swear word is a substitute used by someone so poorly educated that s/he cannot thinkof a suitable acceptable word to express her/his feelings. As it is generally accepted that the standard of the teaching of English language and grammar has fallen in recent years, then it would naturally follow that the width and depth of vocabulary understood by "young" people is far inferior to that of my generation. I cannot put my hand on my heart and say that I never swear but I would NEVER use the foul 4-letter words which I hear regularly being used in the street by young people of both sexes. This is because I have never used them, even while serving in the armed forces, and find them unnecessary as well as repulsive. There are thousands of really good, powerful words which can be used in their place.

I think it's a sad reflection on our society!
Yes I knew the bad words when I was a child and giggled over them in the playground!
To use them in front of an adult or worse my parents............. well I'd never have got out of my bedroom for a month and that would be after the 'being put over Mum's knee and spanked'! Even as 30 year old adults my children would never use that language in front of me! They know all the words too but they rarely feel the need to use them!

I don't like they way kids use bad language in front of and directly to adults these days. When I was a kid children used the bad words but never to or in front of an adult. It is sad how respect doesn't mean the same anymore

Don't agree with it ,I don't swear and I've heard my kids while out playing swearing when asked where they got those words from the playground at school is always the answer, I'd like to wash their mouths out with soap.

I feel bad for kids who swear. It's either they're immitating their grown-ups's ways and they don't mean it or they really mean what they say. But that's a shame because kids are supposed to be pure and they get to swera when they're adults already...

I am a young teen myself and i cant beileve that little kids like 5 year olds are actually saying F. you to adults.
I am serious here i have seen it. Its just the way they are raised.
They see that when adults get angry, they will cuss so they will do the same.

I personally dont cuss to adults although i have sworn (to no one) when something happens. Or i just curse in my head!

There's nothing worse than kids swearing clothes fit for a hooker.... and fake-up fit for a tart in an Amsterdam baker's window ;)

My kids use alternative words which we all know means they are really mad!

Flip is used in my family in place of Fxxk. The first time I was aware of the F....word being used by my sons I had a chat with them and suggested Flip. They started using flip when they were teenagers and have carried it through to adulthood, at least in front of me and other family members.

It's not necessary for anyone to swear, its offensive and it marks the swearer as one who can't control themselves.

I phucking love it! especially when the the little shitehead is like 12 phucking years old, and the little jackazz is trying to be cool and grown walking around saying, "Wazzup all my biitchez and ho'z, ya'll muthaphuckin awesome!" etc etc etc.

....... *sighs* you know, we've ALL dropped an Eff bomb or two, but i HATE it when little kids cuss. < like in the sentence above> It sounds TERRIBLE. Where are their mothers, i wonder? I'm grown, and yes i admit, i've had a few times where my mouth would make a trucker blush, BUT, believe it or not, my mother still corrects me, and tells me it sounds crass, you know, when i say things like, "Hey Azzhole! Get off the phucking road and learn to drive a Gawddamn car you phucking moron!!!!" and *blushes embarrasedly* i'm not the one driving, she is! ROFL!!!!
But i think it sounds horrible no matter whose mouth it comes out of...... *sighs* but unfortunately, we ALL have done it.

*sighs* now, after the posting of this answer, i have to go pray about my tacky, horrible foul mouth, then go find a priest or something to tell on myself to, because apparently simply telling God about in my own personal time isn't good enough, i have to tell my pastor too in order to be forgiven, right? *sighs* whatever. LOL, *whispers* but i DO need to go wash my own mouth with soap........ *sorry!!!* :( ♥
