If you do the math, it's tempting. Median HOUSEHOLD (not individual) income in the USA is around $40K/yr, so that interest income of $50K+/yr, (plus another few $K saved by eliminating the expenses involved in work transportation, work clothes, childcare, etc) would more than exceed the WORK income of most Americans. If we make a conservative estimate that the "lower half" devotes about 50hr/wk to work, how many years of NO WORK does it take to "make up" for that 5 years you've traded away? If I could have just 10-15 years of NO WORK responsibilities, it just might MORE than make up for having 5 LESS years a life that consists of mostly work, getting ready for work, driving to an and from work, and trying to get enough sleep to do it again tomorrow.

Dawson, you must have a very fortunate background if you think that saving up $1,000,000 is an easy proposition. That would mean SAVING $200K/yr. Based on a "typical" (40hr/wk x 50wk/yr) work, that comes to $50/hr just to go into your savings -- you'd need more on top of that to cover little luxuries like food and housing. Being in a position to be so very cavalier about sums that represent fabulous good fortune to most Americans -- it must be very pleasant to enjoy such good fortune.

That would be funny...You trade the five years and as soon as you receive the money you fall over dead becasue you were suppose to die just a couple of years from now, so you traded your life away for a million dollars you can never spend.

The earth itself is gng to last another 5 years(if we go on polluting our planet)...
so, even if u don't have money, better enjoy the five years, rather than trading...
