Well, I was part of the "in" crowd throughout my school years until I hit the 11th grade or so. It was then that I realized that my "friends" were really just a bunch of douchebags who got off on tormenting the less popular. I rebelled, and subsequently became quite the social outcast for a while. I spent a lot of lunch periods in the library. I think I turned out to be a a better person for it though. At least I learned how to think for myself. : )

Definitely the out crowd. School is just one huge popularity contest, with everyone trying to be top dog. I learnt to be my own person, and think for myself. Even in school I refused to follow the mob just because the In Crowd were doing something. As a grown up I look back and smile, as most of the in crowd ended up being deadbeats, and I got the better end of the bargain.

I was a metal head. I had great friends who were outcasts and I love them dearly to this day. But I had the in crowd $$$ and did not care. My best friends were in the in crowd and I ran with them both at times. Best friend in high school was a preacher's daughter. She was not a good influence, we got drunk 2gether, ran from the deranged coke dealer (we did not do coke), snuck out had great times. Those were the days. I am glad I lived through them. My past is a long (and could be interesting to someone) story.

Mostly out, I had a few friends with that crowd. Funny thing is when we got out of school it is like we are all on the same playing field. Most of them want to be like me now...

By in crowd I assume you mean the stuck up ones...no I hung out with all the druggies in the smoking area behind the school.
