Why are you using RAID ? Seems like a waste of space on your Hard Drives. Normal backup to external drive or DVD would be simpler.

The only thing I see you need if you are thinking of Vista is you need a minimum of 2 Gig of RAM.

How much video RAM is on that ATI card ? Newer games require at least 256 Meg of RAM or more.

I would get the additional RAM and insure your video card can handle games and do a complete re-install after you get the RAM and check the video.

Is your computer unable to do something you need it to?

Is it running slow?

Does it not meet a system requirement of a program you want to run?

If you answer yes to any of those questions then it is time for an upgrade but if you answer no to all three don't bother.

RAID failing every 6 months doesn't make much sense to me, even crappy software RAID (although RAID 0 isn't really RAID anyway) shouldn't have that kind of problem.

As for Vista, stay the hell away from it, SP1 has been released and it doesn't change a thing, Vista is still crap and still has OPM (which is a very bad thing).

a) DON'T, I repeat DON'T upgrade to Vista - why do you think you need it? At least wait for Service Pack 1 - some reports suggest Service Pack 2.

b) What is wrong with your current setup that makes you think you need to upgrade? Does it run anything slowly? Is there a new game that you are not meeting spec requirements? If not, then your machine is fine - it does what you need!

Defintiley upgrade the memory and the graphics card.

If you have PCI express on the motherboard, it is worth getting dual SLI cards. Try and get at least 2gb of memory.

try the novatech web site for reasonable prices for components

Don't listen to those dumb ppl telling you not o get Vista. It's great! You should upgrade your processor, if you normally play games on your computer. Graphics card is okay... If you want you could buy a new computer(lol) Your CPU speed is way too low. Mine is 4.70. Well maybe that's cuz i have a Quad Core
