Don't give them adult paracetamol. Try to reduce their temperature with thinner clothes and a cool cloth on the forehead (but don't let them get too cold). Take them to the doctor asap

If she/he is under 3 months don't! But under medical supervision, in practice, after 2 months it's acceptable after vaccinations for example. You need the special Child Paracetamol (the pharmacist will advise) and the dosage for different ages will be on the bottle and printed in a leaflet.

Ibuprofen can be given at 6 months - but seek medical opinion if the child suffers from asthma.

You can give a baby over 2 months infant paracetamol, Calpol. You should check the dose. Infant Calpol comes in sachets and one sachet should be the right dose unless your baby is very small. If your baby is younger than 2 months then you should check with your doctor for advice to avoid any chance of an accidental overdose of paracetamol, which can be dangerous to the liver.

you should take your baby to the doctor before administering any medication. A newborn under 1 month cannot have paracetamol unless under strict supervision from a doctor.
Don't give anything before getting it checked first.

Consult a doctor first. Babies don't have a well-developed liver and a too high dose of paracetamol can cause liver toxicity which can be fatal.

We doctors, go by weight and a specific mg(milligram) per kg (kilogram of baby's weight) per dose for paracetamol. For children (especially neonates and infants), we also look for a cause of the fever.

Please bring your baby to the ER for attention.

Take the baby to a Dr. Fever in newborns can be serious and should be checked by a Dr he will then tell you how to treat it.
