Assuming you have a Cutlass with the 3.8L engine (unknown rear brakes, could be drum or disc) the front pads will run you $21.99 for BrakeBest premium pads, $51.98 for two front BrakeBest rotors. Assuming your rear brakes are drum brakes, BrakeBest shoes are $13.99 and drums are $59.98 for BrakeBest. Total cost is $147.94
This is going under the assumption that the brakes are completely gone on all four wheels. If not, you can get the brakes resurfaced for less money. Putting brakes on yourself is easy and doesn't take a lot of time. Besides, why pay an extra $150.00 for a shop to do it when it's an hour to hour and a half job?

It depends on if you are just replacing the brake pads or replacing pads & rotors. Or also if you are doing anything to your rear drums. If you are taking your car to a shop and having it done you should plan on paying atleast $300.00 for pads and rotors on the front and another $150.00 if they are doing anything to the rear. If you go to a shop make sure you ask about warranty on brake parts and labor.
