i need to change it but when i look up under the radiator i can't figure out how to get to the drain plug. please help!!!

Just pull the bottom hose off the radiator. All the fluid will come out that way. That's how I always do it.

Sometimes those drain plugs will freeze up. And, when you try to use it, it breaks.

Best thing is to remove bottom hose? faster? than drain plug... clean out with a flush from Prestone product and water,
then refill with 50/50 solution of prestone pre-mixed!!! when you re install use a news hose clamp not original equipment a screw on type ask at Shop, like Autozone or checker or pep boys O'Riellys etc.
