I am in the market for a laptop. I have limited resources. Does anyone know a really good low priced laptop that can burn cd's and dvd's and allow me to watch movies, but that can function in everyday life and can travel around.

I could do all that with my flee market Toughbook P3, got it for $50 so any and I do mean any USB-equipped laptop would do what you want, not P4 and certainly not AMD64 or Intel Core.

I accessorized it with a USB external burner.

This is actually hitting the lower-end echelon to play DVD quality DivX with my new purchase of this old tank-tough laptop.

Whatever you do don't get any Optima laptops.

I have one, and I have to get it re-imaged all the time because of all its hardware.

I have had two optimas and both were a useless piece of software.
