An Indian farmer has married his dog in a bid to overcome what he believes is a curse caused by him having stoned to death two mating dogs in his rice field. The 34-year-old farmer, identified as Selvakumar from Sivaganga district in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, fell on bad fortune 15 years ago after killing the dogs & hanging their carcasses from a tree. A few days later, his hearing and speech were impaired & he was unable to walk. Doctors were clueless, but an astrologer finally told him he was cursed by the spirits of the dogs he had killed. He could undo the curse only if he married a dog & live with it, the soothsayer said. After a long search for a 'suitable bride', Selvakumar managed to get a four-year-old mongrel ***** from a friend & had a fully-fledged Hindu wedding in front of villagers & elders on Sunday. The canine bride, named Selvi, was adorned in a sari and flowers & brought to the temple by village women. A Hindu priest conducted the ceremony. Selvi attempted to make a run for it but was eventually tracked down and returned to her new 'husband'.

yeah I read that on the paper this morning, it's hilarious - I can't believe there are people this days who believe in curses or would do such things to undo a curse, I’m amazed at the stupidity and gullibility of some people, what a freak, he should get a life, but if he's not cured, will he mistreat this dog too??

Selvi had buns for the her wedding feast...
Poor little thing...Hes only married her to break the curse.
I hope he treats her well.

These are very very poor people who live in villages with no electrity or running water. Superstition is rampant and its a very very sad state of affairs.

I just read that on the Yahoo news - it's madness.
What an evil guy though stoning to death two mating dogs and hanging them from a tree... his new 'wife' can do better than that - poor girl! No wonder she ran for it. No human bride will want him either - ridiculous!

Not many have married a dog although there are plenty that have married a *****.
I must stress that this does not apply to me personally!
It's probably only a matter of time now, before this practice becomes commonplace in England!

Its disgusting he can 'marry' a dog despite the fact hes already killed two! But why can an indian woman not marry who she wishes? I wonder if it would be the same if they all had curses and needed to marry who they wanted?

That's nothing. I read an article the other day where this scientist reckons people will be marrying robots in the future!

Think about it - some sad men already spend 1000 pounds on a lifesize doll of a woman. One guy even took his doll out in his car!

lmao

So, to you, his marrying a dog is more outrageous than stoning to death the two he found having sex?

What IS the world coming to?

Goodness gracious, how anybody could stoop so low as to use this way to kill poor defenceless dogs. And as for marriage to one trying to clear your head of such shameful guilt, well. What has been done in the name of religion is just despicable,I should not say it but I hope the dog bites him.

That's nothing new. There was a Roman emperor who married a horse. Our world's always been a confusing, messed up place full of freaks.
