2nd; Without a balance of power between the government and the citizenry then all of the rest of the constitutional rights are merely perks being handed out by politicians like candy to good children

1st You must be able to speak your mind and express your views; even right wing views, even talk radio, even supporting your favorite candidate. Without freedom expression there is no freedom

5th The CITIZENS of our country must have the right to due process; this does not include illegal aliens and enemies of war.

Frag you have worthy goals but they are not constitutional amendments.

they no longer exist...

Ammendment ONE--Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment 8 - Cruel and Unusual Punishment.
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.(We all know he did it...to innocent people, treated terribly)

Amendment 10 - Powers of the States and People.
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. (REALLY, what about the real ID act???)

these are a few among many others...I used to have these rights, now I don't 'nuff said...

the importance to these is due to there relevance, in my opinion, of the times we are facing now...the one's that are no longer protected.
