No, it is not. Mar's volcanoes are all extinct. Mars cooled down after it formed millions of years ago. Earth is still cooling down.
The average temperature of Mars is -81 degrees Fahrenheit.
And the reason Mars is red is because its soil is rusting. It is made mostly of iron.

As Orion said it is a cold planet. The red colour comes from an iron compound mixed into the soil. The temperature is generally cold, exept near volcano centres. It is a lot colder than earth as it is the 4th planet from the sun and earth is the 3rd. Mercury is actually the hottist as the closest planet and this posed a huge prblem when scientists tried to send probes to it. Mars on the other hand was the 2nd planet to have space probes sent to it(venus is the 1st

You can say it is hot you can say it is cold. Mars has a big number of volcanoes and is red for is element content. Its is the 4th closest planet to the sun obtaining more heat than some other planets , but it also contains polar ice caps in its mountain peaks this shows that the whole mars is not really hot.

Relatively speaking it is average. Venus and Mercury are much hotter than earth. All the planets beyond Mars are much colder than earth. In general Mars is colder than earth because it is farther away from the he sun. Its temperatures are more extreme than earths', because it lacks a significant atmosphere.

Mars is cold. It is millions and millions of miles farther away from the Sun than Earth is. The farther away from the Sun, the colder the planet. Only Mercury and Venus are hotter than Earth.

No, it's not. It's colder than Earth. It often assumed it is hot because it is red, but that is just because of the Iron (is that right) levels.

In terms of its position in the solar system its colder than Earth but there are other factors such as its lack of atmosphere which would mean any heat reaching it isnt filtered down
