angas doesnt came from the word 'tanga'
and 'ungas' is different from 'angas'
'tanga' = 'ungas'
i dont know and i have no idea wer 'angas' came from.
but 'angas' is synonymous with 'mayabang'

The root word agnas comes from the word "to crumble"; as in "crumble to its mother earth" ("maangas sa inang lupa").

actually it is an actual word... meaning boastful and cocky.
It is not a Kanto word. It is an Official tagalog word..... such as sirotso....kaspego.....paglulon ng banig...... and the likes....
most of the ancient tagalog words are forgotten....
