my idea is maybe the snake is the Voldermort's snake that we can see in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire

This snake is a snake form the zoo. When Dudley started to annoy it and wake it up, Harry felt compassion towards it and started to talk to it. Not knowing that he is a wizard or that he knows Parsletounge, he started to tlak to it in Parsletounge. Then when dudley realized that the snake was moving, he pushed harry to the floor, and watched it. Harry had become mad, and with an ounce of magic that he never knew he had he made the glass dissapear. Then the snake said thank You, and left. While Dudley was trapped in the cage.

It's just a snake from the zoo. It's a nice snake from Brazil, I think.
