I've got so caught up in life that I've forgotten how to live. Please someone tell me a meditation tecnique that you use to unwind. I really just want to sit and listen to the "air" and hear nothing else. I want to forget about yesterday, today & tomorrow even if only for 15 minutes. I basically just want to turn OFF & recharge. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone has their own way of meditating, so you will have to find the best way for yourself. When I first started to meditate I used to sit on the floor of a quiet dark room with a single candle just out of reach and at eye level. Once I managed to use that technique and could picture the flame in my mind at will I move to a stage where I can now be anywhere (including the office) and sit relaxed and focus on the flame first and then any other object that I desire. The object seems to be a way to channel myself, I know when I'm on a meditative state because everything around me is crystal clear.

If you want to know more of what is involved please don't hesitate to contact me.

Good luck

first thing you need to know is that the air is "allready heard" that's not the true target in meditate. you have to become one with God and you're only an ordinary human, if you can't forget about yesterday or today, that because you really want to become "a perfect person" and that's not able in you as an ordinary human.(straight those things first in your mind) because meditate containt, focus & your true Heart. Now sit and say, "mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"

Check out youtube it has some good mantras and some are willing to chant for you assisting your meditation. Even transendental meditation where you recite a mantra to yourself is still very popular but a guru is expensive like 2500 dollars for four days .

It's all about breathing, It's the most basic thing wee take for granted. There are many different breathing tech. , but I like to count to 12 while I inhale, and thirteen as i exhale.... Try it once......relaxing huh?

To get the results you seek, it will take quite a bit of practise. There are quite a few ways to meditate, but the most basic is as follows:

Sit someplace quiet and without distractions in a position that is neither too relaxed nor too constricted. Close your eyes, breathe deeply a couple of times, and begin to focus on your breath. As you breathe in, acknowledge that you are breathing in, and as you breathe out, acknowledge that you are breathing out. Another method is to count to ten. As you breathe in, count one, out two, in three, and so on up to ten.
There are more complex meditations, but those are good starters. There are innumerable good books on meditation; I started out on Peace is Every Step.
