The answers are different...
1. Religion offends more now because peoples religions are not as solid as they were 50+ years ago. Understanding morality is important, but people focus so much on the belief part because they can't explain why life is worth living if there's no afterlife. And, when you challenge these beliefs and break them...the person that used to 'have the answers' and not worry about them (thus being able to do other things) now has to reevaluate stuff they took for granted...and it screws them up in the head.
2. Racism offends people because there have been people that killed innocent people simply because of the color of their skin. Apparently someone thought making racism taboo instead of letting people develop the ideas and murdering someone's kid as the lesser of two evils.
3. People do lawsuits because they're powerful and can make you a quick buck sometimes. People lazy, selfish and cowards...and for any combination of those three things they'll start up a lawsuit. Sometimes lawsuits are useful though...like when a company has been serving improperly cooked food and killed a few people, and put several more in the hospital.
We're turning into a country of wusses for other reasons, though.
The main reason is because everyone is too busy fighting with each other to actually give a sh!t about one another...and so social cohesion is falling apart...which means bye bye democracy hello dictatorship.
Which means step 1. make the people too afraid to fight back.

It depends on the issue. Freedom of speech means just that, and if it does not apply to EVERY American citizen; then it may as well not even be in the Constitution at all. No One is exempt from the first ammendment. NO ONE!!!!! Folks can call me anything they want and I will not get mad, but when I see a blatant violation of this nation's first ammendment rights I tend to get upset. Sorry but the law's the law, know what I mean?

Because everybody wants to play the "victim" role. They think they will get sympathy, and an excuse for acting like an idiot!... People want what ever they can get there greedy hands on. If they prove they have had an injustice done to them, good chance they may be rewarded a sum of money, gifts, property,rights...etc...for there supposed "hardship" they've had to endure. Its all driven by money and greed and need to be better than everybody else....Lawsuits......War.......Crappy Economy..."Oh Say Can You See"!!!!.. hmm.. imagine that...

I think that people who get offended easily are not very comfortable with themselves. As far as lawsuits go, is because our stupid system allows frivolous lawsuits with out any merit, every one is after a buck.

Americans love the drama! Especially where we grow up in a country where we can take legal action over almost anything...even a couple of words...makes it worse. It's like the word PEACEFUL doesn't even exist anymore.

Because people are freaking retarted. You don't see all those other countries acting like that. Other countries take the heat and make what they can with it. We on the other hand, call the fire brigade. Lol!

Because people care too much about what everyone else thinks about them.
Because as long as we can blame everyone else for our problems, it's never our fault.
I could probably go on with this list for hours, but I've offended myself and I need to contact my lawyer immediately.
