hell no - all our dumb leaders say is, "they hate us for our freedom." hahah, they hate us for our involvement in middle eastern affairs, as well as our opportunistic and imperialistic view on foreign affairs.

"Addressing" the root causes of terrorism is an asinine thing to even consider. While you are at it, why not ask America to address the root cause of pedophilia? Should we say that these people only commit crimes against other people's kids because they don't have children of their own to molest? And if so, how do we solve the problem - by giving them what they want? Whose children do we give them to make them stop hurting our own?

I hope this analogy isn't lost on anyone. The root cause of terrorism is that these bloodthirsty racists exist. The solution to that problem is simple.

Absolutely not. To address the root cause would involve understanding and possibly even admission of liability. Moronic sound bite explanations like "they hate our freedom" are a lot easier.

The root cause of terrorism is the landgrabbing made by Israel as against the Palestinians. Thus, in order to solve terrorism, Israel must return the lands to the Palestinians and the Arabs will stop terrorizing Israel and the countries supporting it.
