I recently turned 27 & he's 51. I've shown my interest in having a baby with him in the 5 months we've been dating. He said he's a little weary in having a baby because last year he got an 18-year old girl pregnant, apparently she told him she was using birth control when she really wasnt. He has older kids from a previous marriage & said having another baby would really take some time to consider. He's been having some problems with kidney stones & has passed 2 since I've been with him & said he passed 4 last year & 3 the year b4 that! After he passed his last stone, we had sex later that night & I quit taking my birth control 2 days prior to that b/c we hadnt had sex in over a week. you think i could be pregnant? do u see any problem in having a baby with a man that age, regardless of his stone problem? my friend said i shouldnt be having a baby with a man that passes stones through his penis because he'll give that gene to the kid when he/she is older, be prone to stones!

All I can say is that at least in my group of friends and associates most marriages lasted somewhere between 8 to 18 years. Then hell broke loose. How many good years can he give you without having to worry about cheating or divorce and just other daily abuses that an older man is just less likely to bother with. It all depends on the person, I think the bigger problem is him having a baby with an 18 year old. Now that is a much bigger deal and definitely NOT a good sign.

His kidney stone problem isn't the problem. You talk about having a child with him yet you don't say anything about marriage or at least even some type of long term agreement. You don't mention love but there's all that mumbojumbo about his stones. I really don't know what you want here. Do you just want to have a baby with this guy?? Are you going to live with him or marry him?? Why do you stop taking b/c just because you haven't had sex in a week?? Why are you seeing someone almost twice your age??? He should see an urologist and you should see someone closer to your age.

The first question you need to ask yourself is why would you want to have a baby with a 51 year old? When the kid graduates high school, he will be almost 70. He will never be around to help that kid grown up like a father should...play ball, go to the park...and besides everyone will mistake him for the granddad. The second question is...what ever do you have in common with him that you could discuss on a equally intellectual ground????

I would have to agree with most of the other people and say no. However, I have seen some babies that look like little old men and it's not because someone is older - it is just the babies don't have as much baby fat as others. And really, aren't all babies just as cute as cute can be?

You sound like a teenager. Why on earth was a 50 year old man getting an 18 year old girl pregnant? And who is supporting this baby? Why do you want a baby with this man when you aren't married? It doesn't matter about his kidney stones. Grow up and use your head. He sure doesn't sound like he'd be a good father to any child. Or a good partner for you either.

You are out of your mind if you want to get pregnant from a man that you have only been going out with for 5 months!!! Secondly, what happens to the poor child when it has to grow up without a daddy because daddy died or is too ill or too old to spend any time with it?

Well, well. Must be a very responsible man. Having sex with an 18 year old girl. He's old enough to be her father! That's sick. And if he's that irresponsible, imagine him with a baby.

Don't trap yourself girl, you deserve more than that....

Now you are attracted to the idea just because it seems impossible, but if you do have a baby with this guy, you will be a single mother , eventually....

It is your decision, but before that think not twice, but more and more :):):)

I wish you good luck! I really do.
